Tim and I decided that we would now like to be open to a sibling group of children 4 and under. It is crazy to think about, but we feel ready and willing to have more than one child under our roof at once. We spoke to our social worker on Monday, and she is going to make the changes to our homestudy. Luckily, the paperwork was still getting translated in Colombia, so we can pause it until we get our homestudy and letter of introduction updated.
This may mean that we will get children sooner, but right now, we are totally on God's timing. I used to get all worked up about the time it would take, but now I feel at peace and know that when it's time, God will give us children. It won't always be easy, but we just have to trust Him to know what is best.
So, here we go on an even crazier adventure than we ever thought we'd be on, but God is in control, and we know He's got some amazing things planned for us!
Congrats on joining us crazy sibling adopting parents to be! Hopefully your wait will go by quickly and enjoy dreaming of life with several little Colombians running around.

Congratulations on your decision. I hope all goes quickly for you so you can bring home your children soon. We went back and forth between one child and siblings. We went with an older child since we already had a 12 year old and so far so good. If we wouldn't have already had our daughter, we would have gone for a sibling group.

ReplyDeleteYes, congratulations!!! We changed our minds many times and are requesting 0-7 now!!! (We started at under 3 I think!). We are probably all crazy... but think of it, we will have double (or triple) the fun-- and trouble. :-)
