Today, I felt the pains of being a mom, but I felt the triumph of surviving it!
Rosa woke up with a massive Big D in her diaper and all over her body. *deep breath* "OK, Sweety - let's get a bath." Splash. Splash. Everyone's clean and happy now.
So we head down to breakfast. Dear me! Rosa ate the entire container of veggies! Yay! After a week of off-an-on eating, I was feeling pretty good. Now to the rest of breakfast. Yay, she's eating even more! *blahhhh....* Well, I got to see the veggies, apples, and yogurt one more time. *sigh* "OK, Sweety - let's take a bath." Splash. Splash. Everyone's clean and happy now.
Cough. Cough. That's right. Rosa still has that darn cough from last week. Luckily, on-top-of-it mom already made an appointment the day before. Hop in the van, kids! Sorry, Rosa - I'll stop rubbing it in that you can't walk yet. I'll help you out with that.
Hello, Doctor! So my little Rosa has lost weight?!??!?! *sigh* I'm doing everything right? Just a little tweek in my program for her? OK...sure, I will definitely find a way to feed her four bottles a day because it's not like I haven't been TRYING!!!
Lunch time. Crying. Screaming. Melt down. I see the back of Rosa's mouth. Dear me - two molars starting to poke through. No wonder she's angry. "OK, Sweety - let's give you some Tylenol. Sweety? If you stop screaming for a second, I can give it to you. Alrighty - it's ok that you spit it all out. Let's try again. Dear me, why won't Tylenol work instantly!"
Trot up the steps for naptime. Toddlers have been sleeping for two hours. I swear God created a need in babies and toddlers to take naps just to give mommas a break. This momma definitely needed one, but now she feels renewed and ready to take on what the evening brings!
Oh gosh..sounds like you had a stressful morning. Glad the girls had a nice nap! Hopefully your day is more relaxing today! :)
ReplyDeleteIbuprofen for the teeth!!! Tylenol will not touch it and Ibuprofen last much longer! (p.s. I am a dentist)
ReplyDeleteWhen the bad days happen the best advice I can give is to just laugh it off. And remember all of those people who told you motherhood was so wonderful.
