The festivities started on Friday with a fall party at Katie's preschool. Families were invited, so Rosa and I joined the party. It was fun to see her classroom, projects of hers hanging on the walls, the classmates whose names she had begun to say, and see her in a school environment. When we arrived, all of the kids were seated at a big table. Katie saw her sister and delightedly called out her name and Rosa squaked in response. Before I knew it, the staff had set up a seat next to Katie for Rosa, and Rosa was happily seated at the table with the big kids and obviously loving it. They then commenced to eat all sorts of sugary yummy treats. The girls had a blast hanging out together.

Halloween proved to be a great time as well for both girls. While Katie went to preschool, Rosa and I headed over to one of our favorite play places, The SeeSaw Center. They were having Halloween themed activities and a snack, and kids were encouraged to wear their costumes. Rosa wore the cutest little angel costume, and I have to brag a little bit and say she is one of the two cutest little girls on the planet! She played, had a pumpkin cookie for a snack, and smiled for Mommy as I took lots of pictures.
Halloween night - We dressed up both girls. Katie dressed up as a fairy princess. She loves to dress up, wear high heels, and sport her play necklaces, so this was the perfect costume for her! Abuela came, and while Daddy stayed to hand out candy, we girls headed out to trick-or-treat. The girls' first stop was our awesome neighbors across the street. Katie cutely got the words trick-or treat out (although it sounded more like "swish-or'schwee"). Not only did they both get their candy, but Tracy kindly ran back into her house and brought out bling necklaces for the girls. They LOVED them.
As they visited each house, they got better and more understood more about at what to do AND about what they got! Katie would say the right phrase dutifully and get her candy, and Rosa wasn't about to be left out. She would hold out her bucket (which was about the same size as her) and keep holding it out until someone noticed her and gave her something. The neighbors got a kick out of them as they road in style between each house in their wagon. Rosa enjoyed that time because she would take out the wrapped candy and suck on it, wrapper and all!
After we went about a block, we decided to head home. After all, it was raining and cold! When we got home, Katie LOVED handing out candy to all of the kids. But their favorite thing to do? Eat some candy! I'm amazed they slept last night after getting quite a taste for chocolate.
