Snow White and Elephants

Since I last wrote a blog about the kids, Kia has turned five.  Yes, FIVE.  What in the world?  Where has the time gone?  She is growing into such a wonderful little girl with the biggest heart for others.  I'm so proud of her.  She adores Snow White right now and carries around a Snow White doll everywhere with her.  She could probably quote the entire Snow White movie from memory if you asked her to!  So could Mommy and Daddy :)

Bean is three and a half.  And oh my, does she LOVE her animals!  Her current big love is elephants.  I think we have nearly a dozen stuffed elephants hanging out in our home right now, and she just adores visiting them at the zoo.  We end up at the zoo about once a week and have to circle around twice because she wants to see the elephants again.  I am going to miss our zoo trips when she moves on to another love someday.

Kia is doing really well at her preschool downtown.  They do a phenomenal job with her, and she has grown so much since she started there.  I'm so grateful she gets to go for one more year, and I can't wait to see how much she continues to grow.

Bean starts preschool in a couple of weeks.  She is so excited to see her preschool friends again, and we are thrilled that many of her friends from last year are in the same class this year!  We just had a play date this week for the preschoolers at her school, and it was just so cute to see them all interact.

Right now, my heart is heavy for adoptive families who are in Colombia.  There is a national strike, and it is getting very violent between protestors and police.  It is extremely dangerous to travel.  There is an adoptive family stranded in a region unable to leave because of the strike, and if they travel, they risk their lives.  Please keep them in prayer for wisdom, patience, and especially safety during this time.
