Love Love Love Ikea!

My cousin who loves to design has taken over designing the girls' room.  Thank you, Lord!  I don't have a designer bone in my body.  I chose the theme - butterflies and gave a few ideas for things I definitely wanted, and she has taken off!

But one thing Tim and I did do was to pick out the furniture.  She gave us instructions to look for white furniture, so we did.  We wanted to do that anyway so that it was easy to paint over chips, etc that are bound to come about due to kids being kids.  We went to a couple of furniture stores and gasped over the high prices and the awful designs of beds.  And finally...we went to furniture Heaven - IKEA (do you hear the angelic music playing?)

We immediately found a bed we LOVED, two different drawer chests (one that Tim liked and one that I liked - he was gracious and finally let me have my way), and a wide chair for the room.
The bed we picked out - times two, of course!

Then today, my cousin and I went to Ikea and picked it all up.  We were quite the pair as we went through the warehouse trying to find all of the boxes that housed my furniture.  I have to admit that my favorite part was riding the carts through the warehouse.  Yes, we were like little kids as we got a running start and then jumped on the carts riding through the big aisles. Who says turning 30 has to turn you into a prude?

Of course, the best part of the day was lugging all of those heavy boxes up to the second story of my house.  At that point, it was just Tim and me against the ridiculously overloaded, heavy boxes.  After many painful trips where my arms and legs almost decided to jump ship, we did it!

Now the boxes are sitting in the corner of my bedroom.  And the best part?  We don't have to assemble it!  Our family is going to do it while we are in Colombia.  Now if we could just figure out a way not to have to pay for it...it would be perfect! :)
