Yep. It's the truth. We're just incredibly awesome in every way. After both working full days of work, Tim visited the mattress store to check out the mattresses for the girls, and I visited Ikea to see if they had our second bed yet (which they did, and the manager never called me like he said he would - grr!). We met at the UPS store to get our FINAL fingerprints. Yep, 7 fingerprint sets later in this three and a half year adoption process, we are FINALLY done with fingerprinting.
But we weren't finished yet. To get the adoption rate for our plane tickets, we had to head to the airport to pay for our plane tickets. After showing them the paperwork and my shiny credit card (OK, so really shabby looking credit card after using it so much lately), she printed the tickets. I was about to leave, and BAM...I noticed that they typed in the wrong name for Tim. Apparently, it's like moving Heaven and earth to get a name changed on an international ticket after it is purchased, but 30 minutes later, I finally walked out with tickets we can actually use!
Oh, but we are so much cooler because after that - we went to the mattress store and bought the mattresses that Tim picked out earlier and stuffed them into our brand new van. Of course that was after the mattress lady and I talked all about the adoption and giggled over the pictures. Oh yeah, EVERYONE must look at the pictures of my beautiful girls because, well, they are just the most gorgeous little girls I have ever seen!
But the van wasn't full enough yet, so after parting ways (Tim had to go to a meeting), I went back to Ikea and bought the second bed and after unloading the mattresses, teaching the IKEA guy how to apparently lift a box, and loading everything back in, I was on my merry way!
Driving down the interstate with gigantic boxes that could at any moment fly through your van and out your front windowshield is pretty scary, but God apparently wants me to have the opportunity to be a mother, so I survived and made it home!
Thank goodness we have family living with us right now because I could leave it up to the strong guys to carry all the goods in. Wew!
So now I sit here marveling in our awesomeness - a bit tired with sore hands and limbs from loading the car - but still awesome all the same.
Now the fun comes when we try this with two kids in tow!
