I just thought I would take a moment on here to thank Tim Murphy, our local congressman. When we heard that the FBI might take 12 weeks to process our fingerprints, we were stunned at how long the wait would be. That saddened us because we knew we might have to wait longer to get our girls just because of a bunch of government red tape.
A couple of people close to us recommended that we call Tim Murphy, our local congressman, to see if he could push things through faster. After speaking with one of his aides, we learned that indeed, they might be able to do it!
Then, 10 days after we submitted our fingerprints - let me repeat that, TEN DAYS - we received an overnighted package in the mail with our FBI paperwork completed. It came on Christmas Eve as an early Christmas present. Our adoption rep said that this kind of turn-around is unheard of. In fact, she said that she wished she could send more of the CHI families Tim Murphy's way!
So although I never plan to make my posts on her political, I will send a big thank you Tim Murphy's way for allowing us the opportunity to go down to bring our girls home in February instead of waiting until at least mid-March. That is one more month I can spend with them. One more month of bonding. One more month of being a family. There isn't anything more amazing than that!
