The Journey Begins

We are sitting in the Pittsburgh Airport this morning about to begin the first flight of three to reach our little Colombian daughters.  It is a strange feeling right now.  I'm not even sure how to put it into words.  I just left my job, said good bye to family and friends, and now I'm boarding a flight two days away from being a mother.

Yesterday was difficult saying good bye to my students.  I really adored my kids this year.  They went along with my strange teaching techniques, laughed with me, and were such good sports as I led them through many tough concepts.  I am really going to miss them.

But now, I have to change my focus to my little daughters.  In two days, I will see them face-to-face.  In two days, I will become a mother to them.  Tim will be a FATHER.  Gosh, that fills me with so much excitement thinking about Tim as a daddy.  He is so good with children, and he has a special soft spot for girls.  He is going to be an amazing daddy to these girls.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our family and friends for the amazing support you all have been during this entire adoption process, and especially the last couple of months.  It has not been easy, but we made it through all of this because of all of you.  God has truly blessed us!

Hopefully, if all goes well, we will have computer access in a couple of days and will be posting the first of many pictures of our forever family.  Stay tuned!
