Waiting to Be "Released"

What do snow, veggie shakes, and friends and family have to do with each other?  They are all things we miss from home.

I currently write you, pathetically sick, from the lobby of our hotel in...yes, still Monteria.  Yesterday was NOT a fun day.  Not only did we not get a call from the court, but we lost internet, and while the staff was trying so hard to fix that, the power went out in the entire hotel for a couple of hours.  Luckily, after we sweat profusely, sat through a couple of tantrums, and played "in and out" a dozen times with the toys and a bag, we regained power and the internet, a connection to home.

What I didn't regain was my sanity.  Now, during the day, we can't go anywhere away from the hotel with the kids.  We have to be here to get the call to go to court.  As our translator FINALLY told us yesterday (thank you for finally being real with us, Samir!), the judge has ten days to "release" our paperwork.  In other words, he has ten days to pick up a pen to sign it.  Evil plans of bribery begin to form in our heads.  But no, we will do this the right way.  I know that God would not be too happy looking down from above and see us not trusting HIS timing and trying to take things into our own hands.  So we must just trust that God knows what He is doing.  His plan is bigger and great than ours, and it's time we start trusting Him a bit more.

Positives of staying here longer?  Katie is now fully adjusted to the stroller.  She doesn't even try to cry when we put her in it.  She even likes when we go full speed and run around with her in it.  Rosa?  She's just a happy little bean no matter what we put her in.

Both girls are sleeping better.  We have learned the difference between real cries and attention-seeking behaviors in the middle of the night, so we know what to respond to and what to let go.  The girls are sleeping better as a result and are learning how to fall asleep again after they wakeup at 1 in the morning!

We are realizing that not only is Katie Belle a gymnast, but our little Rosa Bird is a swimmer.  She is already surpassing Katie's skills in the pool and is using both her arms and legs to move around.  She's not strong enough, obviously, to hold her own right now, but I have a feeling that I'm going to be going to a lot of swim meets in the future with her.

Well, back to bed - Rosa finally fell asleep for her morning nap, so Daddy is taking Katie out while Rosa and Mommy sleep.  It looks more and more like we won't be going to court today, so we will probably be spending another weekend in Monteria.  At least Mommy won't have to fly feeling like this!

P.S.  I tried to upload pictures and a video, but in the spirit of the way things are going, even Blogger is being mean to us and not allowing it today.  Oh well - another day.
